Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Mike Ozekhome has announced his appearance as the lead lawyer for the defence at the resumption of proceedings on Tuesday in the trial of detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafran (IPOB) Nnamdi Kanu before a Federal High Court in Abuja.
Proceedings commenced a moment ago with the arrival of the judge, Justice Binta Nyako. Kanu was brought into the court by security operatives around 9;50am. He exchange pleasantries with some of his family members, who were in the court room and his lawyers.Labaran Magaji is leading the prosecution team.
Ejiofor confirmed to Newsmen that changes have been effected in the defense in view of the new charges from the Federal Government.
Meanwhile, security has been beefed up at the Court premises and its environs.All roads leading to the Court have been effectively blocked by operatives of the Department of the State Services, DSS, to ward off possible threat to life and businesses by hoodlums.
