Ogun State Set To Hold Local Government Election On July 24


The Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission (OGSIEC) declared on Friday that local government elections for Chairmen and Councillors would be held on Saturday, July 24, 2021.

The Chairman of the Commission, Mr. Babatunde Osibodu, made this known in a statement stating that, in order to ensure a free and equal democratic procedure, a press conference has been arranged for Tuesday, May 4, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. at the Cinema Hall of the June 12 Cultural Centre, Abeokuta.

According to the announcement, the press conference would include an opportunity for the commission to reveal electoral guidance to both political parties and the general public.

The commission boss requested all registered political parties, wishing to participate in the forthcoming elections, to present not more than two representatives at the briefing, in compliance with coronavirus protocols.
