Ogun State Governor, Abiodun Approves Free Data for e-Learning in Primary and Secondary Schools
Governor of Ogun state, Dapo Abiodun collaborates with the telecommunications services in Nigeria to dispense free internet services to both public primary schools and secondary across Ogun state.
He said this would aid learning, and equally ameliorate the academic standard and positively expose the student to more books which would make them vast in learning.
Abiodun affirmed that the e-learning would enable these students to have access to digital books, audio textbooks and so many others.
The governor passed a message across, through the Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu. He said,
“During the lockdown when it was not possible for us to come to school, we introduced the Ogun digital class”.
“What we are doing now is to improve on that to the extent that more and more students will be able to benefit from it”
“We are working on a programme through which telecoms providers will assist so that students can have free data to be able to access digital materials,”
The Special Assistant to the Governor on “Student Matters” Adeyemi Azeez spoke about a celebration themed “Harnessing the Articulacy and Vibrancy of Nigerian Student Leaders for Larger Politics”.
According to Adeyemi this function is to tackle the prospects of students into the commonwealth of the country. He added that Abiodun’s government have performed excellently well.
He talked about how the governor established a good connection with the students. He concluded that the function would ensure the students are prepared for the future.
