I find the Presidential spokesman, Femi Adesina’s statement that Nigerians should be thankful that they’re not crossing borders to look for food under Buhari – Presidential as anomalous and callous . In fact , no mentally balanced human being will make such statement judging from where we were 7 years ago and Nigeria’s current ranking as number 10 in the list of the World’s most hunger country. With a population of over 200 million people , Nigeria’s Global Hunger Index (GH1) score is 29.2.
With the poor economy people do not have money to buy food . With the insecurity in the country today Nigerians cannot go to farm to produce food for fear of being killed , raped , sodomised, extorted , kidnapped , maim , dehumanised or have their properties destroyed by criminals without any consequences to the aggressors for their crime against humanity . Because of the bigotry , clannishness, ineptitude cluelessness and bad policies of this government ranging from blockade of our borders , increase in taxes , excess borrowing from within and outside the country , forgiveness of terrorist, encouragement of corruption etc , Nigerians are impoverished and are starving everyday to death from hunger and malnutrition under the very watch of president Buhari .
When Akinwumi Adesina, president of the Africa Development Bank (AfDB), came to Nigeria with view of proffering solutions on how Nigeria can solve her food crisis our Presidential spokesman failed to take advantage of the opportunity . Instead of being responsible for once he was busy clowning and writing jargons all over the place, insulting the intelligence and sensibilities of Nigerians.
As the high rate of inflation , famine and hunger ranges on in our land with no solution in sight , I advise Femi Adeshina to shut up if has nothing constructive to say to move our country forward . He must shut up and stop enabling President Buhari in the act of bad governance .
