The President of the Nigerian Bar Association, Mr. Yakubu Chonoko Maikyau, OON, SAN, following his visit to the CP, Rivers State Command, visited the policemen shot during the kidnap of Mr Okey Wali SAN.
The President, whose delegation had Chairmen/Secretaries of Branches of the NBA in Rivers State and some Bar Leaders were at the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital on the 24th of April, 2023 to identify with the injured policemen.
The President sympathized with the Officers and prayed for their recovery, while appreciating the staff of the hospital for the care being provided.

Mr. Maikyau also visited the former President of the NBA, Chief OCJ Okocha, SAN at his office to assure him that all is being done to ensure the safe return of Okey Wali SAN.
Chief Okocha, SAN thanked the NBA President for the visit and his effort in protecting the integrity of the profession.
It was earlier reported that the two policemen sustained gunshot injuries while the two aides of the former NBA President were killed in the incident.
