The President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Yakubu Chonoko Maikyau, OON, SAN, paid a courtesy visit to Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, to solicit the state government’s support for the upcoming NBA Annual General Conference (AGC) scheduled to hold from August 23rd to 28th, 2024, at the iconic Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos.
Accompanying the NBA President were key members of the AGC planning committee, including the General Secretary, Mr. Adesina Adegbite; Chairman of the NBA 2024 Transition Committee, Olawale Fapohunda, SAN; Chairperson of the 2024 AGC Planning Committee, Mrs. Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya; and Alternate Chair, Mrs. Amina Suleiman Kaoje.
Governor Sanwo-Olu, who is also the host of the 2024 AGC Planning Committee, reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting the NBA and ensuring the success of the conference. He pledged to make available all necessary state resources and facilities to guarantee a secure and impactful event.
The meeting underscored the importance of collaboration between the NBA and the Lagos State Government in delivering a world-class AGC that will bring together legal professionals from across the country. As the conference draws near, both parties are focused on finalizing logistical and infrastructural arrangements to meet the high expectations of participants.
