The Lagos State Police Command has stated that the autopsy report of the late singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba aka Mohbad, which was conducted two months ago, has not been provided to them.
Two months have passed since the exhumation of Mohbad’s corpse and the commencement of an autopsy to determine the cause of his death, which occurred on September 12, 2023.Mohbad’s death sparked controversies, leading the police to establish an investigative team to ascertain the cause of the singer’s demise.
In September, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, tweeted that the “autopsy has been concluded” and that the police were “awaiting result.”In October, the then Commissioner of Police, Idowu Owohunwa, named prime suspects linked to Mohbad’s death and revealed details about the events leading up to his demise.
Some suspects were subsequently charged to court, and last Friday, singer Azeez Fashola (popularly known as Naira Marley) and Balogun Samson (known as Sam Larry) were released after meeting bail conditions. When questioned about the release of Mohbad’s autopsy report, Hundeyin confirmed that the report had not been officially provided to the command
Hundeyin emphasized that the police work with facts and not rumors and stated that only the singer’s family lawyer could request the release of the autopsy result, or it would be independently given to the police when available.Nigerian artiste, Bella Shmurda, also appealed to the police to release Mohbad’s remains and expedite the process to facilitate a dignified funeral arrangement. He urged for the prompt disclosure of the autopsy results
