I warmly congratulate the Chairman, the Executive Committee, and the Planning Committee of the 2022 Law Week of the Calabar Branch of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), as well as the entire membership of the Branch, on the occasion of your Law Week, which commenced on Tuesday, 4th April, 2022.
I find the theme of the Law Week: “WE THE PEOPLE” particularly instructive and apt in view of current constitutional amendment going on in the country by the National Assembly. It is my expectation that, in the course of this Law Week programme, the Branch will examine and identify that the so called constitution was drawn under the military regime of Gen. Abacha and does not represent the views of my people as well as other regions hence the incessant amendments and constitutional reviews.
I look forward to the outcomes of your deliberations, as I’m confident that this event will turn out to be the most impacftul and inspiring Law Week.
I wish the entire members of the great Calabar Branch, a fruitful and most successful programme of activities.
