A 28-year-old man, Yakubu Yusuf, was arrested early Monday morning for allegedly vandalising aluminum railings on a bridge near the Old School of Nursing, heading toward the Third Mainland Bridge.

Officers from the Onikan Police Division apprehended the suspect.

It was gathered that around 6:42 a.m., the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Onikan received a tip-off about a group vandalizing the bridge’s railings.

Acting on the information, the DPO swiftly led the division’s anti-crime patrol team to the scene.

Yusuf was arrested at the site, and 21 long pieces of aluminum railings were recovered.

However, other suspects managed to flee before police could catch them.

The Lagos police command confirmed that an investigation is underway to capture the remaining suspects and reassured the public of their commitment to safeguarding public infrastructure and ensuring security
