The Nigerian Bar Association Lawyers In the Media forum will hold their LIM Quarterly Roundtable on Thursday Sept. 28, 2017 at Protea Hotel Benin City, Edo State. The time is 9am prompt.
The theme for the one day event is: Consumer Protection and Economic Development; The Need for Media Intervention.
The event which would be shared by the Special guest of honour, the Executive governor of Edo State, His Excellency, Godwin Obaseki will address the scope and the introduction of new restrictions on existing press freedoms and the media law by the Federal Government.
Prominent guest speakers and panelists would deliberate on when and how consumer authorities should intervene to improve market outcomes now that it is a challenge for policy makers. The methods used to analyse and address consumer issues are evolving, as are the complex problems that consumer agencies are being asked to address.
The NBA-LIM through these selected experts on Consumer Policy, would provide a platform for governments, together with stakeholders, to work together to improve policy responses.
We hope the outcome of such legislative deliberation will promote a better environment for lawyers in the media and the Nigerian journalists to practice their profession without fear.”
