Kwara High Court Judge, Oyinloye, Dies At 58

The legal profession and judiciary is in a mood of mourning following the announcement of the demise of a Judge of the Kwara State High Court, Justice Sikiru Adeyinka Oyinloye.

“We lost one of our finest in the Kwara State High Court bench, Justice Sikiru Adeyinka Oyinloye has returned to His Maker. May Allah accept his return as His righteous servant. This is sorrowful!”

In a statement made available to TheNigeriaLawyer by the Nigerian Bar Association, Ilorin branch, Late Justice Oyinloye was a very bold and highly knowledgeable judge.

The statement signed by the branch Chairman, Kamaldeen Gambari reads in full, “Nigerian Bar Association Ilorin Branch and Kwara State Judiciary announce the passing on to the the glory of the erudite jurist, Hon. Justice Adeyinka Sikiru Oyinloye of Kwara State High Court of Justice, Ilorin. Before his death, his lordship was a bold judge who dispensed justice without fear or favour. He was an abode of knowledge of law and incorruptible judge. He will sorely be missed by the entire legal profession family in Kwara State and beyond. His remains will be laid to rest at his country home, Ijara-Isin, Isin Local Government Area of Kwara State by 10. am today 24th April, 2023.

May God be pleased with his soul and grant him eternal rest. Amen.”

The Governor of Kwara State has also sent his condolences, the State Governor in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye, joined the NBA and Kwara State Judiciary to mourn the demise of the Judge, and urged all to take solace in the fact that he left a legacy of uprightness, hardwork and brilliance.

“We join the Kwara State Judiciary and the Nigerian bar to mourn the unfortunate death of Hon. Justice Oyinloye, a very upright and brilliant judge. We are consoled by the fact that he left a legacy of uprightness, hard work, and brilliance for which he was known within and outside of the court system,” the Governor said in a statement on Sunday night, hours after the development.

“Our heartfelt condolences go to his family, the Kwara State judiciary, the good people of Isin local government, and everyone who mourns the late judge. We pray Allah to grant him Al-jannah Firdaus and comfort the family that survived him.”

The judge was until his death in the active service of the Kwara State Judiciary.
