On Friday, a crisis had erupted between policemen and some IPOB members in Aba.

The incident led to the killing of five IPOB members as they staged a protest in the city to demand Kanu’s release.

However, Ejimakor, in a series of tweets, wrote: “As #AbaBleeds from the mindless massacre of unarmed Igbos who were merely expressing their legal right of protest, Nigeria needs to know that this vile mistreatment of Ndigbo cannot go on forever.

“From Lagos to Aba, Ndigbo are wounded, mournful & angry and it’s getting to the breaking point.

“Ethnic cleansing happens when the compatriot spirit is lost on the misguided belief that a certain ethnicity is a political, economic or cultural threat.

“That’s what triggered the Hutu against the Tutsi & the Serb against the Bosnian. And once the blood-letting settles, the little rascals scatter while the leaders are matched to The Hague.”
