The Indian Ocean island of Mauritius was the elegant setting for the formal church wedding between the immediate past President of the Nigerian Bar Association, Olumide Akpata and the former Ms. Osayamon Michelle May Ogbebor.
The wedding, which took place at the Trou D’Eau Douce Catholic Church, was followed by a lavish reception party at the luxurious Longbeach Resort on the Mauritian island of Belle Mare.
The reception, which was chaired by Mr. George Etomi (the pioneer Chairman of the NBA’s Section on Business Law), was graced by a galaxy of distinguished personalities from various walks of life, including Senior Advocates of Nigeria such as former NBA President Alegeh, several Senior Advocates of Nigeria, other accomplished lawyers and members of the Nigerian diplomatic mission in Mauritius, as well as representatives of the government of Mauritius.
In addition to guests from Nigeria, friends of the couple and their respective families came from over a dozen countries including the United States of America, Canada, South Africa, United Kingdom, Germany, France, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Australia and Singapore.
Recall that earlier in 2022, as reported by NEWSWIRE Law and Events Magazine, family, friends and the Nigerian legal fraternity had gathered in the ancient city of Benin, Edo State for the traditional marriage rites of the Akpatas.
