Honour for Spelling Bee winners

Coker-Aguda Local Council Development Area, Lagos has held a Spelling Bee Competition for pupils of primary and secondary schools.

Chairman of the council Rasaq Ibrahim promised that the winner will be made One-Day Chairman of the council.

This, he said, will serve as an encouragement to the winner and other pupils to focus on their studies.

“This is a good development and it is now that we have to catch them young; we are here to support them to succeed. I believe they’ll be happy with what we’re doing and the gifts given to the participants. I believe the future is bright for them,” he said.

Rasaq implored parents to  guide their wards and ensure that they are threading the right path in life. He said: “Parents should take good care of their children; they should always check them from time to time. We have to guide them because if you fail to guide them, they’ll end up with the bad gang.”
