It is an honour to be invited by the Young Lawyers Forum of the Aba Branch to her Inaugural Summit. I am delighted to be a part of this landmark event with the theme: “Building a Successful Legal Career, and Expanding Legal Minds; Prospects for a Young Lawyer”.
The theme is quite timely; coming at such time when issues like expanding the frontiers of practice, protection of the lawyers’ business, continuous professional development of lawyers, and such like are on the front-burner. I am convinced that the theme will set the groundwork for in-depth and insightful discussions which will be beneficial to the participants and, result in practical solutions to the challenges facing the young lawyers in our country.
I commend the leadership of the Young Lawyers Forum and the Continuing Legal Education (CLE) Committee in the Branch for this wonderful programme. I also extend my gratitude to the Executive Committee of the Branch for their unqualified support to the young lawyers in making this event a reality – this commitment to the continuing legal education of young lawyers in the Branch is laudable.
I extend my best wishes to the members of the Forum and all participants in the Summit. In doing so, I urge everyone present to participate actively in the conversations in all the sessions as I am certain that it will be a rewarding experience. On this note I wish you all a very successful and fruitful Summit.
