A chieftain of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) in Gombe State, Alhaji Habu Mu’azu on Sunday declared his interest in contesting for Gombe Central seat occupied by former Governor Senator Danjuma Goje.
Senator Goje has been having a fragile relationship with the party leadership in the State leading to a reconciliation meeting held in Senator Abdullahi Adamu house in Abuja on January 4 after he was attacked on November 5, 2022.
However, the Sunday declaration by Mu’azu for Goje’s seat is raising dust on the viability of the reconciliation expected to give way for Senator Goje’s return to the Senate for the fourth term.
Mu’azu, who made the declaration after a condolence visit to the Emir of Kumo, Ahmed Atiku in his palace, said it was in response to the people’s call.
