GETTING IT RIGHT: Ahead of 2023 NBA Annual General Confab, Issues Guidelines on Registration, Other FAQs

The countdown to the 2023 edition of the Annual General Conference of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has begun in earnest.

Scheduled to hold at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja, the Nigerian federal capital, from Friday, August 25 to Friday, September 1, 2023, the Conference will discuss the theme, ‘Getting it Right: Charting the Course for Nigeria’s Nation-Building.’

Ahead of the august gathering, the Conference Planning Committee has issued a number of guidelines, notably in respect of registration and other matters relating to attendance and participation at the Conference – such as difficulties in getting the relevant verification link; card payment issues; error messages; lost or forgotten passwords;  uncertainty about enrollment numbers; information on how to receive CLE discounts; and so forth.

One of such guidelines has to do with provisions for   ‘Early Bird’ registration, and the privileges accruable to those who take advantage of it, in the form of various discounts according to their years post-call to Bar. According to the CPC, the Early Bird window – which is currently open – will close on June 4, 2023.

Another guideline addresses the issue of lost and/or forgotten passwords. Anyone affected by this challenge is advised to do the following: click on the ‘forgotten password’ option on the login page; enter their email address to receive a ‘reset’ link which will expire after 60 minutes. The would-be participant is advised to search in the spam/junk folder  if they don’t find said reset link in their regular inbox folder.

The CPC also addresses the issue some would-be attendees are likely to face, namely, difficulties finding their enrollment number/Supreme Court Number (SCN) upon registration. In such a case, the affected person is required to do the following: check to see that the enrollment number was entered correctly – and to ensure that the prefix (SCN) is added before the number (e.g. SCN00009). If the situation persists and the would-be attendee still cannot find their details, they are advised to contact a support agent for the enrollment on the database.

Intending participants are reminded that the registration portal remains www.nbaconference.com. All email inquiries should be directed to info@nbaconference.com, while calls should be made to 09166929240.
