Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike announced that a Nigeria Law School campus will be established in Port Harcourt, the state capital.
The governor made the revelation at a birthday party for Senator Barry Moigi, Senator representing Rivers South East Senatorial District, according to a Government House press statement issued in Port Harcourt on Wednesday by the governor’s Special Assistant on Media, Kevin Ebiri.
“We have received approval to establish a law school in Port Harcourt.
It’s not about me; it’s about the legacy you leave behind.
“This was a law school that was given to Port Harcourt, but it was rejected by the previous government and was sent to Yenagoa.
According to the announcement, a Federal High Court in Abuja granted the state $1.1 billion in a lawsuit against the federal government.
According to the statement, the $1.1 billion represents Rivers State’s entitlements based on the Supreme Court’s current judgment on production sharing contracts emanating from the Deep Offshore and Inland Basin Production Sharing Contracts.
