Electric Power Transmission Company Apologizes for the Electric Grid Collapse

On Sunday, November 29, the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has reportedly announced that the electric power delivery system of the country has stumbled, causing downtime of the system.

This was disclosed in a statement on Sunday, by the company’s General Manager of Public Affairs, Ndidi Mah, in the Federal Capital Territory.

Mbah revealed that the tripping of the system occurred at about 11:25 on Sunday morning.

She assured that the authority is already at work to restore the system for nationwide benefits.

Mbah further apologized, on behalf of the union, to all the affected electric power users in the country, adding that they would carry out investigations and studies to get to the root cause of the multiple tripping of the grid.

She said, “We regret the inconvenience this has caused electricity consumers. Investigations would be conducted to establish the immediate and remote cause(s) of the multiple trippings as soon as the grid is fully restored.

“Considering that the grid had been relatively stable in the last couple of months.”

Mbah highlighted that all the parts of the country have had their electric supply restored, except for Yola, Markurdi, Gombe, Calabar, Ugwuaji and Maiduguri.
