COVID 19: NBA, UYO PROVIDES FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO 200 MEMBERS.
In fulfillment of earlier promise to provide financial assistance to her members to cushion the hardship on many lawyers in Uyo Branch occasioned by various public directives for the restriction of movement and suspension of most court activities, the Elder Aniema Etuk led Executive Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association, Uyo branch, have made cash transfers of N5,000.00 and N10,000.00 to 200 members of the branch in the welfare assistance programme of the branch.
The Chairman is hopeful that the financial assistance which was credited directly to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries will go a long way to assist them meet some immediate financial needs in the present trying period of lockdown for the purpose of defeating the Covid-19 pandemic.
He further expressed the appreciation of the branch to the President of the Nigerian Bar Association, Paul Usoro, SAN and his wife, Mrs. Mfon Usoro who gave the sum of N300,000.00 (Three Hundred Thousand Naira), friends of Deacon Dele Adesina, SAN in Akwa Ibom State, who gave N200,000.00 (Two Hundred Thousand Naira) and a friend of Dr. Babatunde Ajibade, SAN, who gave N100,000.00 (One Hundred Thousand Naira) to support the initiative.
The Chairman of Uyo Branch, Elder Aniema Etuk has renewed his call on elders and other well-to-do members of the branch, to support this noble project which is continuing, by making payment to the following branch account details:

Members are respectfully urged to continue to observe social distancing, personal and respiratory hygiene as well as other safety measures recommended by health authorities.

Most importantly members who have no pressing court commitments are urged to stay home and stay safe.
