A Kano born atheist, Mubarak Bala has been sentenced to 36 years in a correctional centre for inciting contempt of religion and breach of public peace.
He was convicted after pleading guilty to 18 count charges slammed against him by the Kano State Government.
It can be recalled that Bala sometime in 2020 posted alleged blasphemous statements on his Facebook page tagged Mubarak Bala
Justice Faroukh ordered that the prison terms be commenced when the convict was first arrested and similarly ordered the term to run concurrently.
”By this order, the convict shall serve 24 years concurrently in the correctional centre.
