The Court of Appeal has announced new assignments for its Honourable Justices, effective September 30, 2024.
In a statement from the President of the Court, Hon. Dongban Mensem, it was revealed that Justices from the Ilorin Division will hold sessions at the Ibadan Division for one week each month. Similarly, Justices from the Ekiti Division will sit in Akure for one week monthly, and those from the Gombe Division will convene in Maiduguri for the same duration.
The specific arrangements for these sittings will be determined by the Honourable Presiding Justices (PJs) of each division. It is important to note that this new posting supersedes the previously established Special Panels. All Justices are expected to report to their assigned divisions by September 30, 2024. This initiative aims to enhance the efficient administration of justice throughout the country.
