Chrisland: Broadcaster re-arraigned for posting s3x video online

The Lagos State Government on Tuesday re-arraigned an on-air personality, Uche Igwe, popularly known as Darksam, before Chief Magistrate Adeola Adedayo of the Yaba Magistrate Court in Lagos for allegedly sharing the sex video of a Chrisland School pupil.

Earlier in May 2022, the Nigeria Police Force arraigned the 40-year-old staff of Lagos-based radio station, Metro FM, on a two-count of cyberstalking and breach of peace.

The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Chief Magistrate Adedayo admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N10 million with three sureties in like sum.

During court sitting, the Lagos State government, through its counsel, Omolola Saliu, re-arraigned the defendant on a fresh one-count charge.

The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge as well.

The new charge accused Igwe of distributing through his Twitter handle on April 18, the sex video of some Chrisland pupils who were in Dubai for a World Schools Games.

The offence is said to be contrary to Section 23(2) of the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency Law, 2021 with a penalty seven-year custodial sentence.

Chief Magistrate Adedayo further adjourned the matter until September 28, 2022, for trial.
