In a statement shared with Newswire
“It is with deep sadness and emotional breakdown seeing and reading through all the social media handles on the 15th day of September 2021 about the sad news of our colleagues who had passed on in our various NBA branches the same day.
“I am so sad and short of words even more on the demises of our dear chairperson, Madam Hauwa Shekarau Of The Nba Abuja Branch.
Madam Hauwa Shekarau was a woman who dared to thread where men trembled, a woman who within one year had brought great transformation and enthusiasm to the NBA Abuja branch.
“She also brought back the glory of the unity bar.
Madam Hauwa Shekaru was an enigma, a peace maker, a bonder, a woman worthy of every emulation.
Life is indeed very transient I find it difficult to come to terms that she is gone may her soul rest in perfect peace.
“Suffices to say that while the death of Madam Shakarau Of Nba Abuja Branch is deep and very touchy, there is no doubt that the news of the gruesome murder of the Orlu Branch Publicity Secretary C. D. OMEKAGU is also a painful news and to make matters worst the sad news of the passing to glory of the coordinator of the African Women Lawyers Association (Awla) Akwa Ibom State, Awla Prof. Dorathy Udo Umoatan was announced, indeed this is a very sad for the Nba Akwa Ibom Branches and lawyers across the country. Grief can be so hard but special memories of our great colleagues help us cope.
“I hereby extend my heartfelt condolences to all our Nba Branches and I pray that God will grant the members of the NBA and the families of our departed colleagues the fortitued to bear these irreparable losses.
