Benue State Allocates N6.6 Billion for Local Government Elections as Assembly Approves Supplementary Budget

The Benue State Government has allocated N6.6 billion for the conduct of the upcoming local government election.

 

The local government election is slated for October 5, 2024.

 

The State House of Assembly on Wednesday approved the total sum of N6.644,778,900.00.

 

The approval was granted during the plenary session presided over by the Speaker, Hyacinth Dajoh.

 

The state governor, Hyacinth Alia, had forwarded the supplementary budget estimate titled; ‘Submission of 2024 Supplementary Budget Estimates of Six Billion, Six Hundred and Forty -Four Million, Seven Hundred and Seventy – Eight Thousand, Nine Hundred Naira (N6,644, 778, 900.00) only towards the conduct of local government elections in Fiscal Year 2024 to the Assembly.

 

The supplementary budget estimate was read on the floor of the house by the Speaker.

 

In a unanimous voice vote, members of the state assembly approved the supplementary budget.
