Olusegun Bamgbose, Esq., National Coordinator of Concerned Advocates for Good Governance, CAGG, has speculated at the perpetrators and motivations of the alleged robbery attack at the Presidential Villa.

According to the prosecutor, the robbers were sent by influential figures from inside or outside the government.

He said they could be mercenaries on a quest.

Speaking more about their job, the legal practitioner said that the robbers came to test the waters rather than loot, and that they were likely after some highly sensitive documents or to plant some surveillance gadgets to watch what was going on in the Presidential Villa.

“The recently attempted robbery at the residence of Chief of Staff to President Mohammadu Buhari is a clear indication that no Nigerian is secured,”

“This incident has gone to show that the Presidential Villa is vulnerable to attack any time.

“As one who has deep knowledge about security issues, the reality is that there are moles, spies, mercenaries in Aso Rock working for an interest.

“They did this to test the waters. One may not be able to precisely state categorically for now, what the interest is all about.

“However the truth is that the burglars didn’t come to rob but possibly after some highly sensitive documents or probably to plant some security gadgets to monitor activities of what goes on.

“The issue is that those people were sent by some powerful figures in the country or outside the country. They are probably mercenaries who were on a mission. The entire Presidential Villa should be cordoned off.

“Caution is the keyword or else Aso Rock may explode soon. This is certainly the work of mercenaries who possibly have invaded the Villa.

“Considering the country’s security situation, certain stuff should not be taken for granted.
To avert the looming danger in Aso Rock, serious investigations should be conducted.

“The defense architecture in the Villa was most definitely breached.
This cannot be a routine theft.

The Presidency announced an attack on the residence of Ibrahim Gambari, President Muhammadu Buhari’s Chief of Staff, on Monday.

The attack, according to the Presidency, was a ‘foolish’ effort to burgle Gambari’s home, which was unsuccessful.
