AWLA PARLEY 2021: Association Discloses Programme, Calls for Timely Registration.

The African Women Lawyers Association (AWLA) has called on its members and interested participants at its forthcoming Parley in Port Harcourt l, the Rivers State capital, to register within the stipulated period to ensure the seamless processing of necessary details.

This is even as the Association’s Parley Committee discloses the programme for the event to be held under the theme, ‘Using Mediation as a Tool for Resolution of Family Disputes and Conflicts.’

In what the Committe promises to be conducted in a convivial atmosphere akin to a family reunion, the Committee especially urges male lawyers to register in their numbers in order to lend their presence and solidarity to their female colleagues.

The parley will feature a formidable galaxy of speakers, resources and panelists, notably the Keynote Speaker, Agada John Elachi, PhD., FICMC, FCIArb(UK), who serves as the President of the Institute of chartered Mediators and Conciliators (ICMC).

To interrogate the aforementioned theme on its various dimensions, Dr. Agada John Elachi will be joined in a panel discussion by the following accomplished individuals: Mrs. Adeyinka Aroyewun, who is the Director at the Lagos State Multi door Courthouse (LMDC). She is slated to speak on the topic: Mediating Family Disputes and Conflicts Through the Judicial Process; Hilda Desmond Ihekhaire MCArb, the Rivers State Representative at AWLA Nigeria, who will address the topic, Practical Challenges in the Mediation of family disputes and Conflicts.
