ALWA has received with shock and horror, the news of the shooting to death of Mrs Omobolanle Raheem by a rogue officer of the Nigeria Police at a checkpoint in Ajah. This bestial act is all the more unpleasant because she was returning from church with her husband after the Christmas service. AWLA supports all the actions so far by the leadership of the NBA at all levels in condemning this dastardly act and in ensuring that the culprits are brought to justice. This event underscores how vulnerable we all are in a society that sends untrained and unrestrained arms-bearing security personnel onto our roads. We urge our colleagues to be more vigilant especially at festive seasons like this . We pray for the repose of Omobolanle’s soul and lift up the family she left behind in our prayers.
