Police hiding my father’s autopsy result – Ondo ex-guber candidate, Akingboye’s son cries out

Samuel Akingboye, the eldest son of the former Ondo State governorship candidate and prominent businessman, Otunba Bamidele Akingboye, known as OBA, has called out Lagos State police command for allegedly hiding his father’s autopsy result.

Speaking in a statement obtained by DAILY POST on Thursday, Samuel questioned the motive of the Lagos state Commissioner of police, Olohundare Jimoh.

He claimed that police hid the autopsy result from him who is the complainant but secretly invited his stepmother without him being present.

While insisting that the CCTV footage suggested that the late politician was murdered, he described the commissioner of police’s move as “an attempt to dilute, or divert the investigation”.

He also claimed that his stepmother and her children have started selling their father’s properties amid the ongoing police investigation.

While calling on the Inspector General of Police, IGP Egbetokun, Ondo state governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa and the general public to intervene, he said, “I have received indirect and direct death threats from my stepmother, her younger brother and her children owing to my pursuit of truth over my father’s death.

“I am making a public appeal for support, protection, and intervention from Nigerians, institutions, and human rights defenders. This process has taken an enormous emotional, financial, and psychological toll, intensified by what appears to be unequal access to resources and influence. They are fighting this investigation with the resources stolen from my father’s account.

“I maintain that the CCTV footage and post mortem findings reportedly point to violent circumstances surrounding my father’s death suggesting an obvious case of murder. If there is nothing to conceal, I call for these to be released immediately and transparently.

“I also express deep concern over what appears to be an attempt to frustrate, dilute, or divert the investigation.

“The Commissioner of Police refused to communicate the findings of the autopsy to me as the complainant till date, and When I was eventually invited, I discovered that the opposing side had already been engaged. They had reportedly visited the CP office on Tuesday, while I was invited on Friday.

“The rationale behind this approach remains a mystery, in that, I had the impression that both parties should be on seat to get briefing from the CP on the result and other findings.

“Meanwhile, actions have reportedly commenced by parties of interest (my stepmother and her children) to access, alter, or transfer assets, property documents, and business holdings belonging to my late father, even while the investigation is yet to be concluded and he is still in the morgue”, he said.
