It is with a deep sense of gratification that i extend my hearty congratulations to the Nigerian chapter of the International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA), on the occasion of her 2021 Conference, which commenced in Abuja on the 24th of November and will run through to the 29th of the month.
As a believer in the core values and mandate of FIDA worldwide and its Nigerian affiliate in particular, the theme of this year’s Conference – “Addressing Gender Based Violence: New Tools” – gives me immense satisfaction as it addresses a growing menace in our society in a frontal and unequivocal manner. No doubt, FIDA Nigeria is poised to confront this plague without pulling punches, to challenge all relevant stakeholders on the imperative of prompt and decisive action in combatting it, and to hold perpetrators to account.
I wish to use this medium to also salute the outgoing Executive of the Federation for acquitting themselves creditably during their tenure. It is my hope that the new administration will build on the achievements of its predecessors in the quest for a greater organization.
