New Year Greetings from Yemi Akangbe
Dear Learned Seniors/Colleagues, compliments of the season to you.
We thank God for bringing us safely to the end of yet another eventful year, even as we look forward to what promises to be a most productive and prosperous New Year. I pray that true fulfillment may come for you on all fronts, in terms of personal development, career goals, family life etc, as well as the grace to meet all that come your way in rich and bountiful health, vitality and warm cheer.
As old as (that) tradition is, I know it is yet another time for New Year resolutions. Even as many of those sometimes turn out not exactly easy to keep up with (especially with the oft-tempting lure of old habits), I pray, and urge that we push to override the challenges, and bring in changes that you genuinely desire, and wish to see. Sometimes it’s just about finding the right moral compass; at other times, the enduring spirit, renewed energies, unfolding and stretching our limits, steely determination and what have you, to achieve the desired results. Let’s just do it!
I pray that 2019 turn out to be a year of success in your life. And here’s hoping that all your dreams come true and the coming days are filled with success and prosperity.
Whilst there is understandable concern about the economic prospects in the country within the context of an election year, I am of the view that we should be encouraged by the resilience of the Nigerian citizenry and the economy and the last couple of years.
I wish you a prosperous New Year.
