New Lagos Attorney-General, Onigbanjo, SAN, is a ‘Bar Man’ – Adebola Lema
A ‘Bar man’ becomes the latest Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in Lagos State.
‘Bar man’ in the sense that he passionately supports the NBA, attend our meetings (NBA Lagos) and contributes positively.
I remember vividly his contributions in 2013 in the wake of the NBA Lagos Branch elections of that year when the issue as to whether the payment of Practising fee and Branch due should be cumulative in reckoning eligibility to vote at the election.
He was of the firm view that by the combined and community interpretation of the Legal Practitioners Act, the NBA Constitution and the NBA Lagos Branch Bye Laws the payment of Practising fee and Branch due was compulsory and cumulative in order to be able to vote.
Again and recently in our monthly general meeting on Monday the 8th day of June, 2019, the learned silk and now Honourable Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Lagos State contributed immensely during the debate on the issue of voting by electronic means in our election (where I ran for the exalted office of Chairman).
If all or most Attorney General’s are Bar men in the manner of Mr. Moyo Jubril Onigbanjo, SAN, the Honourable Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice of Lagos State the bar will be the better for it.
May l finally use this opportunity to congratulate him and wish him and Lagos State huge success.
Congratulations Mr. Moyo Jubril Onigbanjo, SAN
