NBA-SBL Offers Scholarships, Free Participation at 2018 Business Law Confab to 100 Young Lawyers

We are happy to inform you that as part of its mentoring programme for Young Lawyers in 2018, you are hereby invited by the Nigerian Bar Association – Section on Business Law (NBA-SBL) to apply for participation in the Annual Business Law Conference 2018, as well as a young lawyers’ training hosted and organized by the International Bar Association (IBA)

According to the SBL Chairman, Olumide Akpata, the one day conference on the 26^th of June which is the day before the SBL conference business law conference is a programme approved by the President of the Nigerian Bar Association, Mr. AB Mahmoud (SAN), for us to collaborate with the International Bar Association. It is going to be a training specifically for the Young Lawyers, and we are offering Scholarship to 100 Young Lawyers from around the country.

All they need to do is find their way to Abuja, we will take care of the accommodation, so they would be attending the one day training of the IBA. The Young Lawyers Training is titled “Fundamentals of International Legal Business Practice” and will cover areas of cross border M & A transactions and arbitration as regards international trade, Rotimi Ogunyemi would be handling the Technology session and there is also a Dispute and Resolution Session as well as discussions on soft skills required of young lawyers in the ever-evolving practice of law, which is a very good source of networking for the young lawyers. These 100 young lawyers that would be attending this programme will also be attending the SBL Conference ‘Free of Charge’.

This training will hold on the 26th of June, 2018 at the Transcorp Hilton, Abuja.

To apply for the scholarship, you are required to send a confirmation with the following attachments:
– A cover email stating why you should be awarded the scholarship to attend the above programme (No more than 180 words); and
– One page CV (clearly stating your year of call and locality of your NBA branch).

This scholarship is open to only Young Lawyers with 1 – 7 post call experience level. Only Successful Applicants will be contacted by June 15th at the latest with further details of participation, however, please note that sponsorship covers only registration for the Conference and training as well as accommodation for those residing out of Abuja ONLY. Participants would be expected to handle their transportation to Abuja whilst transportation to and fro venue centers will be handled by the NBA-SBL.
