NBA Lagos Branch Chairman Elect, Yemi Akangbe to Sponsor 30 Young Lawyers for AGC
The Annual General Conference (AGC) of the NBA is the most important event for lawyers in the course of the year. It provides an opportunity for lawyers to acquire valuable Continuing Legal Education and to fraternize with each other. I have benefitted from previous AGC’s and plan to attend this year’s Edition of the annual conference billed for 23rd to the 29th of August, 2019 in Lagos.
I consider it important that as many young lawyers as possible are given the opportunity to attend. To this end, some of my friends have agreed to support me in sponsoring 30 young lawyers, from the NBA Lagos Branch, to attend the AGC.
So, if you would like to attend the Annual General Conference, please send an email with your Full Names, Your Supreme Court Enrolment Number, Name of Your Firm, Your E-mail Address and Phone Number to: firstname.lastname@example.org before close of business on Friday 5th of July, 2019, as I will be giving out these 30 slots on the first-come-first-serve bases.
Lateef Omoyemi Akangbe won the 2019 chairmanship election of the Lagos branch of the Nigerian Bar Association in an online poll conducted last week. Akangbe won with 440 votes, making up 56.8% of the total vote, beating his two closest opponents, Adebola Olarotimi Lema, who scored 311 votes (comprising 40.2% of total votes cast) and Mrs. Bolatumi Animashaun, who polled 23 votes (comprising 3.0%). With this victory, Akangbe is set to pilot the affairs of the Premier branch for the next two years, replacing the incumbent, Chukwuka Ikwuazom and his outgoing executive.
